S.A.R.U. (Special Ambulance Rescue Unit) is a team that Merlin First Aid Services is trialling for events that require specific extra skills on top of first aiders and emergency medical technicians. W Utilising skills and knowledge from these backgrounds we have found that we can provide specific rescue cover and advice to clients. A recent example of this was the British Rafting Championships where the company provided ambulance crew and all terrain response vehicles ready to intervene in any incident. The company is looking to develop S.A.R.U.
as a full specialist unit, initially for swift water and marine operations and
events with the additional equipment and training required, hopefully within the
